About Evie Perez Photography

Welcome! I’m Evie. Discovering creative and spiritual expression through my camera was just short of miraculous. As a Christian, I have always believed in living life to the fullest! Going and doing whatever God called me to—living, feeling and communicating all that I experienced in my soul and finally finding a way to share that with others. I am a lifestyle, natural light photographer, that captures organic moments as they happen. After a trip to Europe in 2006 I stumbled on the art of photography. After wandering streets and ancient places filled with images that envoked emotion and beauty,I found myself so inspired, looking at life thru a new lens filled with purpose and passion. While working a separate full time job, I began taking photography classes and meeting nationally recognized photographers who continue to give me insight, direction and friendship. I have a wonderful husband and a wonderful family that supports my dream to be a full time photographer some day soon. That glance, that giggle, the way the light hits you on that special day…that’s what I’m here for. Capturing moments that so deeply touch someone’s heart, split seconds in time that can be frozen, yet felt for years to come…that is what Evie Perez Photography is about. Let me capture those moments for you. Call or email me at: 678.622.2339 or evie@evieperezphotography.com

PIEDMONT PARK: MICHAEL & SANDRA

Thursday, April 19th, 2012

Mike and Sandra met through a very special friend.  Mike is from Scotland and moved to the States for a job opportunity. He briefly lived in California and then moved to Atlanta. Who would have known that Atlanta would be the place he would soon meet his future wife?! Mike proposed to Sandra on the hills of Scotland. She was caught by surprise and not expecting a proposal. I loved spending the afternoon with these two. They were full of laughter, worked the camera and just plain fun to be around.  And did I mention Mike’s Scottish accent? I just loved it!   These two are tying the knot in Cancun later this Spring. I am so excited to shoot their wedding as well as spend time in the sun.

What can I say? Sandra has great taste in shoes. I adore shoes so when I saw these I fell in love.

I love the next four series of photos. Sandra told me that her and Mike are taking salsa lessons. Here are a few pictures of them busting some of their moves.

Sandra, you are beautiful from the inside out!

Thank you delicious light!

I just love this picture!

Again, thank you both for allowing me to be a part of your special day! I enjoyed spending the afternoon with you two and know that only bright things are in store for you both! Here’s to good memories and many more years of fun! In honor of Sandra’s birthday (which is today) I thought it would only be fitting to blog her engagement pictures today.

ATLANTA ENGAGEMENT: CALVIN & TANIESHA

Friday, March 30th, 2012

Last Saturday was the start of engagement/wedding season for me. I spent the afternoon with Calvin and Taniesha for their engagement session. We spent the day doing what they love. Hanging out and having fun! These two are getting married in June and I just know that their wedding is going to be just as awesome as they are! I can’t wait to see their ideas come to life with the help of Eliana from EllyB Events.

We started the day near a lake that they use to hang out and feed the ducks. I couldn’t have asked for perfect weather. The forecast was calling for rain and we almost rescheduled their session. I called Calvin and told him I had a feeling we should just continue with our session and not cancel it. He agreed and I am so glad he did!

Calvin and Taniesha meet at work only they don’t work together , they work in the same building. As soon as Calvin laid eyes on her he knew he had to have her. I can see why Calvin saw something special in Taniesha. After spending an afternoon with them I think they are the perfect match for each other. She is such a sweet heart and Calvin makes sure his lady has what she needs.

A SPECIAL thank you goes to Tori Johnson for doing Taniesha’s make up. Love her work!!

Loving Calvin’s fedora hat!

I think this is my favorite picture!!!

I think I will end with this picture! Calvin and Taniesha thank you for choosing me to make your wedding day memeorable. I can’t wait for your special day to get here. I know God has good things in store for what the future holds. The love that you two have for each other is contagious. Enjoy your pictures!!

THE DISCOVERY OF LOVE

Wednesday, October 5th, 2011

I just wanted to share with you all a little preview of what I am working on…

The most wonderful of all things in life, I believe, is the discovery of another human being with whom one’s relationship has a glowing depth, beauty and joy as the years increase. This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings is a most marvelous thing, it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately wishing for it. It is a sort of Divine accident.” – Sir Hugh Seymour Walpole (1884-1941) English Novelist, Critic, Dramatist

TECH SQUARE ENGAGEMENT: JOHN & NAFIISAH

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011

remember the first time we meet. We talked about wedding planning, who she is, what she likes to do, how John proposed to her. You know the kind of stuff girls like to talk about. She began to tell me when and where they were getting married and I knew this sounded like a fun wedding. She emailed me a few weeks later and told me she wanted me to be her photographer. I was excited!!! I remember talking about their engagement session and asking her what ideas she had in mind. She casually mentioned that she wanted it to snow. I told her, “You never no what could happen”! Anything is possible!!

Well a couple of weeks ago we had a lot of snow. It also happened to be the week we scheduled to have John and Nafiisah’s engagement session. And guess what WE HAD SNOW!!!! As soon as we started I mentioned to her that she got what she wanted :) It was extremely cold but these two toughed it out. Let me introduce to you all John and Nafiisah. I had so much fun with this session. I love the chemistry between these two. Every time I would ask them to look at me, I noticed John would just stare at her instead of looking at me. I loved it!!!!! Nafiisah I can’t wait to be a part of your March wedding!!! You two are cute as can be.

XoXo,
Evie

I love my clients!! Especially when they think I am funny :)

Love this picture!!!

Nafiisah, you are fierce!!

UGA CAMPUS: NICK & KATIE

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

I meet Nick and Katie for their engagement session this past weekend. These two both fell in love and went to school at UGA, so it only made sense to have their e-session on campus. I love it that Nick and Katie choose a location that reflected them. I think it’s important for a couple to choose a location that shows who they are. I enjoyed getting to know these two and spending the day in Athens. This was my first time in Athens and I can’t believe I waited this long to visit.

They’re sealing their love with a special wedding next June on Herty Field at UGA. I can’t begin to tell you how honored I am to be shooting their wedding. Thanks for spending the afternoon with me and making me think I am cool and funny :)

P.S. – I wanted to give a shot out to Katie’s maid of honor, Renita. She came out ready to help Katie with whatever she needed.  What an awesome friend. Thanks Renita!!!

ENGAGEMENT: WALDO & KARLA

Friday, October 1st, 2010

Where do I start? Do I begin with how rad this couple is or maybe how adorable they are? Waldo and Karla have been together for six years and are tying the knot next January. Karla contacted me a few months back to ask me if I could do their engagement pictures while I was in California. I was thrilled to capture them in the California light. The light was perfect. I wanted to take a piece of it home with me.

I had so much fun getting shots of  them in Downtown LA. I love the way they make each other laugh, they way Waldo embraces Karla, and they way Karla looks at him. Karla is so beautiful. While I was shooting them I stopped and told Karla that she looked like America Ferrera.I mean really, don’t you think so? Thank you both for letting me hang with you!! I hope you enjoy your pictures!

Love Evie!

Oh light!! How I adore thee!!

I absolutely love shooting in alleys. I saw these chairs at a store near by and immediately knew I had to use them.

ENGAGEMENT: BRANDON & CHRISTINA

Monday, August 9th, 2010

The funny thing is they both lived in Atlanta, they went to rival high schools, and were both in the marching band. But the ironic part of this story is they never meet, until they went off to college. Who would have guessed that moving 250 miles to attend Tennessee State University would bring Brandon and Christina together? As soon as Brandon saw Christina he knew there was something special about her. He was determined to get to know her. As many times as he tried Christina was not interested. One day Christina needed help moving into her new apartment so Brandon offered to help. It was then that Christina began to see Brandon in a new way. She began to see a different side of him and that is when she decided to give Brandon a chance.

This was my first time meeting these two and I just have to say it felt like they were long time friends. I had a great time last Sunday afternoon shooting their engagement session at Stone Mountain park. The day was filled with love in the air. Their love for each other amazes me, the way he is mesmerized by her, the way he touches her face, and the way he kisses her forehead. To say I am thrilled to shoot their wedding would be an understatement. I am ecstatic to be shooting their wedding this October at the Carlyle House. Brandon and Christina thank you!!!! Enjoy your pictures :)

Brandon loves to play golf. So I thought it would be fun to get some shots of them playing.

IN THE WORKS…..

Thursday, August 5th, 2010
