About Evie Perez Photography

Welcome! I’m Evie. Discovering creative and spiritual expression through my camera was just short of miraculous. As a Christian, I have always believed in living life to the fullest! Going and doing whatever God called me to—living, feeling and communicating all that I experienced in my soul and finally finding a way to share that with others. I am a lifestyle, natural light photographer, that captures organic moments as they happen. After a trip to Europe in 2006 I stumbled on the art of photography. After wandering streets and ancient places filled with images that envoked emotion and beauty,I found myself so inspired, looking at life thru a new lens filled with purpose and passion. While working a separate full time job, I began taking photography classes and meeting nationally recognized photographers who continue to give me insight, direction and friendship. I have a wonderful husband and a wonderful family that supports my dream to be a full time photographer some day soon. That glance, that giggle, the way the light hits you on that special day…that’s what I’m here for. Capturing moments that so deeply touch someone’s heart, split seconds in time that can be frozen, yet felt for years to come…that is what Evie Perez Photography is about. Let me capture those moments for you. Call or email me at: 678.622.2339 or evie@evieperezphotography.com

CAUBLE PARK: DOUGHERTY FAMILY SESSION

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

I got to spend an awesome evening with one of the funniest and sweetest families ever. Hey they even invited me over to have dinner with them. Nikkea is the owner of Trio Makeup & Hair Design. You may remember hearing about her from Daniel and Vero’s engagement session. She was the creative genius that did Vero’s hair and make up and made her look more beautiful than she already is. I can’t say enough good things about this family. They were so fun to capture and full of laughs.

We started their session at Cauble Park in Acworth.

Check out the cutie on the left! They brought their poodle, Daisy along for pictures.

I just love the lighting in this picture. Daddy’s girl.

Momma and her boys.

Nikkea, thank you again for having me be a part of your evening. I had a complete blast with your beautiful family. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!! You are a beautiful person inside and out :)

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF MARRIAGE

Monday, October 24th, 2011

I can’t imagine how it feels to be married for 10 years. Just think that’s half of 20?  One thing I believe it does is solidifies your marriage and who you are. Steve and Marnie are celebrating their 10 year anniversary next month and wanted to celebrate with pictures. I found this quote and thought it would be perfect for the two of them.

I didn’t marry you because you were perfect. I didn’t even
marry you because I loved you. I married you because you
gave me a promise. That promise made up for your faults.
And the promise I gave you made up for mine. Two imperfect
people got married and it was the promise that made the marriage.
And when our children were growing up, it wasn’t a house that
protected them; and it wasn’t our love that protected them – it was that
promise.
Thornton Wilder, The Skin of Our Teeth

Here is one of my favorite pictures!!! Look how good looking you both are.

Marnie, where do I begin. Girl, you are just beautiful!

This Bible was used during their wedding ceremony. I love it when clients bring items that have a special meaning to them.

Isn’t this quilt beautiful? This was made by Marnie’s grandmother.

I will leave you all with this last picture. Again, thank you, thank you Steve and Marnie for having me be a part of this special day! I can’t wait to see where you all with be in the next 10 years. Never stop falling in love and here’s to many more years!!

MIDTOWN ATLANTA: ASHLEY & KATIE

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

I love, love. I am a hopeless romantic if that makes any sense. Last week I meet up with Ashley & Katie in Midtown Atlanta. These two have been married for two years and by the looks of it you would have thought they just got married. Their love is so genuine for each other which made my job a lot easier. I love to capture couples the way they are as if no one is looking. As we were talking, I found out that Katie and I went to the same High School. How ironic is that?

Katie is the owner of Boukates, a floral design company for weddings and special events. Brides if you are in need of a florist, definitely check her out!

So, Katie saw this and wanted a picture of the two of them in the tress. I loved the idea and was for it. I love how it turned out. Here are these two just having fun!

This is one of my favorite! So sweet…

Thank you light for being the best!

Thank you both for a great time and going with the flow! I had a blast with the two of you :)

SHOOTING WITH SHAE

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

I don’t remember exactly how we meet. We were both in leadership with the young adult ministry at our church. Sure we crossed paths and exchanged a few words but we were never close. Shae was just starting out in photography and never did I think in a million years that I would become a wedding photographer. Let alone shot a wedding with her. One thing led to another and Shae was the wedding photographer for my sister’s wedding.

I don’t think I ever told her but she was my inspiration. She was the first and only photographer that I knew. I would always look at her work and think man what a sweet job. When the idea of becoming a wedding photographer danced in my head I thought of her. I would call her and ask her all kinds of questions. She was so open with me and keep on encouraging me to do it. Once I decided to become a wedding photographer our friendship grew. I will never forget the first time I was her second shooter. I was very, very nervous. I was afraid I would mess up or say something stupid. I was still learning and felt insecure about myself (I am still learning and definitely  have more confidence in myself than before).

So much has happened since we first meet. I got married. Shae got married, moved from Atlanta to Alabama and had a beautiful baby girl named, Gwen. This past weekend I drove to Alabama to second shoot a wedding with Shae, and this time I was not nervous! I was so excited and knew we would have a blast. The best part about our job is that it doesn’t feel like work. It feels more like play time. We had some fun shooting behind the scene pictures of each other and playing in the photo booth.

Oh yeah! How awesome do we look :)

Here is a picture of me and Gwen! This was my first time meeting her. She is such a cutie and looks just like her daddy. I wanted to take her home with me.

THE SHOOT

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

I can honestly say that I love being a wedding photographer!! Especially when I can use my services to give back. I have teamed up with other Atlanta wedding photographers to shoot family portraits at a discounted rate of $50. All of the proceeds for this shoot will be donated to a family in need. If this is something you are interested in participating,  please check out The Shoot’s website for more information or to book a session.

As long as I can remember,
good people have never
been left helpless,
and their children have never
gone begging for food.
-Psalm 37:25

HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR: BRENDA

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Her mom called me and asked me if I would be interested in shooting her daughter, Brenda’s Senior pictures? How fun and exciting, I thought to myself  as I was in the car with Daniel driving home. I asked her about her daughter and what they had in mind for her session. I got off the phone and squealed like a little pig. I was so excited because this would be my very first high school senior session.

Last week I meet Brenda and her family in Downtown Duluth for her session. As soon as I saw Brenda I knew we were going to have a good ol’ time. Not only is this girl gorgeous and has the most awesome eyes ever, but she is super sweet and was up to anything. Thankfully the weather was not that bad. It has been really HOT in Atlanta the past few weeks.!!! As we walked around Duluth we started talking about high school, boys, college, prom and so on….. I love hearing about high school, and brings back memories. I can’t believe it’s been 8 years since I’ve been out of high school. Time sure flies by when you are having fun!!!

Brenda thank you sooo much for choosing me to take your Senior pictures. Not only are you beautiful and smart but you have a BIG heart!!! I know that God has nothing but good things in store for you, I can’t wait to see where He takes you!!! Have fun this year and enjoy every moment!!!
