About Evie Perez Photography

Welcome! I’m Evie. Discovering creative and spiritual expression through my camera was just short of miraculous. As a Christian, I have always believed in living life to the fullest! Going and doing whatever God called me to—living, feeling and communicating all that I experienced in my soul and finally finding a way to share that with others. I am a lifestyle, natural light photographer, that captures organic moments as they happen. After a trip to Europe in 2006 I stumbled on the art of photography. After wandering streets and ancient places filled with images that envoked emotion and beauty,I found myself so inspired, looking at life thru a new lens filled with purpose and passion. While working a separate full time job, I began taking photography classes and meeting nationally recognized photographers who continue to give me insight, direction and friendship. I have a wonderful husband and a wonderful family that supports my dream to be a full time photographer some day soon. That glance, that giggle, the way the light hits you on that special day…that’s what I’m here for. Capturing moments that so deeply touch someone’s heart, split seconds in time that can be frozen, yet felt for years to come…that is what Evie Perez Photography is about. Let me capture those moments for you. Call or email me at: 678.622.2339 or evie@evieperezphotography.com

ATLANTA WEDDING: JOHN & CHRISTINA

Monday, May 14th, 2012

I meet her on a flight to Los Angeles to shoot Waldo and Karla’s wedding. It’s funny the way people are brought into your life. I boarded the plane, place my bags in the overhead compartment and slowly adjusted my body into my seat. It was a late flight and I was exhausted. She was already seated next to me. I greeted her with a warm smile and began to open my magazine. I don’t remember exactly how we started our conversation. She asked me what I was going to Los Angeles for and I simply explained to her that I am a wedding photographer and was heading to shoot a wedding. She was on her way to visit John for the long weekend, since he was in LA for work. We started talking about life and weddings. After our plane landed at LAX we said our good byes and went out separate ways.

A few months went by when I received Christina’s inquiry. I was excited to hear from her and more than excited to be part of her and John’s special day. John and Christina got married a few weeks ago on the campus of Ga Tech with a small intimate wedding. The day could not have been any perfect. I had a blast with their friends and families. John and Christina, thank you so much for giving me the chance to live out my dreams. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you both. It means so much that I was able to be part of your special day!!

Christina surprised John with a pre-wedidng gift. I thought that was so special of her. Here is John opening up his gift for the first time. Love his expression!

Do you ever think you are not crafty enough to do it? Well I will admit I am. I want to do more DIY Projects and not give up. I love, love, love when brides incorporate DIY projects into their wedding. I think it’s special and makes their wedding so much more personal. I think we would be amazed by how much we can do if we really put our heart and soul into it.

Well I want to invite you all to join me in a fun workshop. Melanie Hernquist from Lucky + Lovely is hosting a fun workshop on fun wedding decor. I think it will be so much fun! If you haven’t checked out Melanie’s blog, go ahead and do so. She is so creative and I just love her work!!! For more information, click here. Hope to see you all there!!

KIMBALL HALL: MATT & BONNIE

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

I am so sorry I have been lacking in posts. Well I have a good explanation! With moving into the new house, working my full time job, and finding out Daniel and I are expecting life has been a little crazy!! Yes you read that right, “WE ARE HAVING A BABY”!! I am still in disbelief that there is a little baby inside of me. So far I have been feeling really good besides being extra tired.

Enough about me (will do a pregnancy post soon) and onto the couple. I had the privilege of second shooting for Rosanna Marie at Kimball Hall. This was my first time at Kimball Hall and I just about died. This place is gorgeous and Julie, well lets just say she makes sweet tea extra sweet! She took great care of us and made sure we had what we needed. Bonnie and Matt were so much fun! The day could of not been more perfect than it was. They were surrounded with the ones they loved and were both so natural in front of the camera. Rosanna, thank you so much for having me shoot with you! I enjoyed every minute of it!!

I started my day with shooting the guys first. They have it so easy! Guys don’t have to go through all of the preparations we do. Here are candid shots of Matt getting ready.

This is part of the decor in the bridal suite. Need I say more?

Here is Bonnie getting ready. Isn’t’ she just gorgeous?

Agh..again gorgeous!!!

I thought this was so sweet! Bonnie and Matt opted to have a first look. Here is Bonnie’s dad taking her to see Matt for the very first time.

Love her expression. So funny…

It’s time for the ceremony to start!

I will end with this picture.

MIDTOWN ATLANTA: ASHLEY & KATIE

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

I love, love. I am a hopeless romantic if that makes any sense. Last week I meet up with Ashley & Katie in Midtown Atlanta. These two have been married for two years and by the looks of it you would have thought they just got married. Their love is so genuine for each other which made my job a lot easier. I love to capture couples the way they are as if no one is looking. As we were talking, I found out that Katie and I went to the same High School. How ironic is that?

Katie is the owner of Boukates, a floral design company for weddings and special events. Brides if you are in need of a florist, definitely check her out!

So, Katie saw this and wanted a picture of the two of them in the tress. I loved the idea and was for it. I love how it turned out. Here are these two just having fun!

This is one of my favorite! So sweet…

Thank you light for being the best!

Thank you both for a great time and going with the flow! I had a blast with the two of you :)

4 YEARS AND COUNTING

Thursday, September 29th, 2011

Exactly one week from today was Daniel and I’s anniversary. I can’t believe it’s been 4 years…..Where does the time go?

It’s been an interesting year with Daniel being deployed. I’ve been thinking about him a lot lately. For some reason, after him being home for his two week vacation, it’s been the hardest for me after he left. I am SO ready for him to come home. But he has a job that has to be done and I keep on reminding myself he will be home in a couple of months. I sit hear thinking about what we’ve been through. How much we have grown as husband and wife. Where we were our first year of marriage to where we are today. I thank God everyday for this man that he has given me. He a true angel sent from above. He keeps me sain, pushes me to keep on going after my dreams, and loves me for who I am. I am no where perfect. I have flaws and boy am I dramatic and emotional at times, but he still loves me. God I can’t even begin to explain how much I am in love with this boy.

Baby,
Thank you for loving me and sacrificing for us. I look forward to many more years with you. You are the best! I am excited for what the futures holds for us. Heres to our dreams, accomplishments, failures, and success. Because without failure there is no success.

SOUTHERN TREE PLANTATION: CURTIS & ERICA

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

I like a different perspective every now and than. Whenever I get to second shoot for another photographer that is exactly what happens! I get to see things in a new way, try new things, and grow as a photographer. I was so excited to be shooting with my good friend, Jessica Rayborn.

We made the long drive, on a HOT summer July day to shoot Curtis & Erica’s wedding. They choose to get married surrounded by the north Ga mountains at Southern Tree Plantation. The ironic thing was I shot a wedding at Southern Tree Plantation last July, so It was nice to be back. This is a beautiful venue with an amazing view. I love how Curtis and Erica welcomed me with open arms. There is nothing more rewarding than shooting a wedding! I can’t tell you enough how blessed I am to be doing something I love!!

Curtis and Erica agreed on a first look, which gave us plenty of time for pictures. This is something good to do especially if you have a big wedding party like they did.
Erica is on her way to see Curtis for the first time.

Now on to the wedding decor. I love anthropologie, it’s one of my favorite stores. When Jessica told me the theme was going to be anthropologie, I was over the moon.

Evie
